About Stephen Strasburg

Stephen Strasburg – Born July 20th, 1988 in San Diego

Stephen Strasburg is one of the most hyped rookies to come into MLB in decades. He was the first pick in the 2009 draft by the Washington Nationals and signed a $15.1 million contract just second before the deadline.

Strasburg went to San Diego State University and compiled a collegiate record of 21-4 with 328 strikeouts. On April 11th, 2008 he struck out 23 batters in a game agains the Utah Utes.

In Stephen Strasburg’s major league debut against the Pittsburgh Pirates Strasburg struck out 14 and walked nobody. He struck out everyone in the Pirates lineup at least once including the last 7 batters he faced.  All in all Strasburg lived up to the hype and looks to be a top notch pitcher and could turn the Nationals around in the years to come.
